  • Stretch and Fold 71 Papaverhof Amsterdam, NH, 1032 KJ Netherlands (map)

This October we couldn’t be more excited to bring you this beautiful 3-part weekend deep-dive, hosted by Calli Popham!

Part 1 | October 25th, 18:45-20:45

Liquid Body

One of Calli's signature flows fusing breath, embodied slow- flow, playful, creative transitions, inversions and arm balances, this extended practice will take you on a slow, strong, fluid flow through the liquid body, exploring the endless potential we hold, as we return to the memory of our single celled, 'omnipotent' origins and journey through fomless-ness into form.

Part 2 | October 26th, 15:00-17:30

Backbend Intelligence - An Embodied, Multidimensional approach to Backbends

Our hearts are 3 dimensional spirals, therefore when we look to ‘open them’, how can we express this opening multidimensionally and with the support of the lungs?

How does our journey to becoming, through the embryological process inform the way in which we are held and supported in space, therefore enabling us to find more space and ease?

When we move towards a ‘backbend’ we  need to expand our body forwards, when focusing on this element, how does it change our experience?

We will explore these questions and more on a movement journey towards deepening and integrating a fuller, more spacious, joyful, backbend.

This workshop will include Calli’s signature embodied flow style to warm up and integrate the concepts that we will be working with and will also include targeted fascia release, and neurological drills to find more space and understand why we may feel limited or restricted.

Science & Magic intertwined!

Once we have found space and ease from the ground up, there will be an opportunity to explore and play with inverted backbends.

Please bring a tennis ball/ fascia ball.

Part 3 | October 27th, 14:30-17:00

Journey to Handstand - Dancing with Gravity

This workshop is a deep and playful dive into the art of standing on your hands and how to transition with grace and ease.

Delving into the architecture, anatomy and technique of  the almighty handstand, through a journey of powerful practises and insight.

Expect a mixture of slow, strong, focused flow,  handstand drills, partner work, targeted fascia release & brain drills to support you in finding freedom upside down, whatever your level. Calli will share all of the tips, tools and techniques she has learnt in her handstand journey and training to date.

Expect to sweat, to smile and to learn to both fly and fall with grace.
